It
is with great pleasure that I invite you to attend the 27th
Annual Music Conference of the Church of God In Christ
Midwest Region. This is a power filled Conference from start
to finish. It also affords singers, musicians and associates
a time for fellowship, worship and connectivity. The hosting
state for this year is Indiana. The hosts Jurisdictions are
diligently working to create an explosive time of praise.
Their pre-conference service will be held at Sanders Temple
Church of God In Christ on Thursday, September 15, 2011; you
don’t want to miss this service. Our invited speaker is
Pastor DeWitt Jackson, a minister of the Gospel as well as a
renowned artist. On Friday, September 16th we will open the
conference with a Musician’s Summit Course. The Musician
Summit Course is designed to enhance, encourage and empower
musicians. It is an intensified two day training track that
teaches all instrumentalist music protocol, theory and
proper accompaniment for varying environments and services.
All musicians are encouraged to register and attend. We have
invited talented and trained instructors to conduct the
multiple sessions.
On Friday Evening we will enter into
worship with Jurisdictional Choirs singing and lifting the
name of Jesus from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri,
Iowa and Minnesota. Our invited speaker is Superintendent
Anthony W. Gilyard of East Orange, New Jersey. I assure you
that the presence of the Lord will be fervent during this
service. Immediately following our main service we will
enjoy an array of talented artists who have been invited to
participate during the late night musical. Choirs, groups
and soloist from within our region will be showcased.
We arise Saturday morning in prayer and
set our hearts for training. Please see the various classes
and events on the event schedule each has been designed to
develop that skill level for music ministers. We have
workshops that will empower and develop each age segment.
Saturday Evening is the final service of the conference. Our
Regional Orchestra, Children’s Choir, Youth Choir and Mass
Choir will perform selections learned during our time of
training and rehearsal; it is very special time of Worship.
It has been affirmed for many years, “The Best is in the
Midwest” so I invite you to come and experience a great time
of Worship and Fellowship.
I would like to thank in advance the
Jurisdictional Prelates for their support of this
conference, as well as Evangelist Loretta Thames, Elder
Vincent Harris, Elder William Rimson and Brother Graylan
